Loro Piana Interiors 2021 “DOUBLING UP: TWO OF EVERYTHING”

Loro Piana Interiors 2021 “DOUBLING UP: TWO OF EVERYTHING”

The new Loro Piana Interiors collection of fabrics and finished products plays on fabrics, colour contrasts and patterns to create endless combinations.

A whole collection, full of novelties and unveilings, played on colour, on the ease of combination, realized relying on a textile tradition of six generations made of innovation and complex processing. These are the key elements of the Loro Piana Interiors proposal for 2021, presented these days in the showrooms of the brand in Milan, Paris, New York and Los Angeles.

One of the main themes is the double construction of both fabrics and finished products such as plaids and cushions. A signature technique of Loro Piana Interiors allowing to obtain double-sided materials with contrasting shades or different designs on each side. An original and very versatile way to create combinations and play with colours and patterns. The “double” is found both on the traditionally more full-bodied fabrics such as cashmere and wool, and on the more impalpable ones such as linen and silk.

Fundamental the introduction of decoration in the 2021 proposal through geometric patterns and romantic inspiration elements, which add an original touch to fabrics, available in a very rich colour palette. Curtain fabrics deserve a separate chapter, representing the widest offer ever presented by Loro Piana Interiors.

The fabrics also adorn the Ginza furniture collection, which owes its name to the store Loro Piana recently opened in Tokyo, where they made their debut, occupying the floor reserved for customization services, private appointments and events, and can be purchased for the first time from final customers.

The colours include warm earth tones such as beige, brown, warm red and orange that dissolve into natural and soft pastel shades reserved for linen and silk. Sophisticated touches of green and grey complete the range.

The collection has also been designed to decorate different environments: an ideal journey that goes from the warmth of a mountain chalet, to the rooms facing the Mediterranean coast, passing through the elegance and charm of city apartments.

Against a snow-covered backdrop

Colours and atmospheres that evoke warmth are the inspiration for this part of the collection, that speaks of mountain and countryside settings. The star of the show is wool, used pure in rich double jacquard fabrics, designed above all for enveloping curtains of great character, or in the form of blankets and cushions that celebrate pattern. Newari, Lhasa, Kora and Dharma are double wool fabrics with geometric, two-tone motifs on both sides. Perfect for curtains and light upholstery. Pure wool is also used for the Oasis blankets and cushions, making their debut in this collection. Soft to the touch, relaxed and versatile, with geometric designs that vary according to the shade, each side of the double fabric features a different motif. Designed to be used together.

A blend of wool, linen and cotton crafts the Bukhara fabric, available in solid colourways or with subtle irregular stripes in tonal shades to mix and match for characterful upholstery. The fabric is produced using bouclé yarns that lend texture and movement to the surface.

City views

Whether it’s an essential and contemporary environment, or a historical apartment of great elegance, Loro Piana Interiors decorates them with Ginza furniture covered in cashmere and enriches them with Damask curtains in wool and silk with contrasting grosgrain border in silk. The width of the border can be adapted simply by folding it into elegant curtains, available in ready-made panels. Remaining on curtain fabrics, silk shantung meets cotton and gives life to Balthazar and Samarcanda, respectively with patterned large irregular oblique stripes on an ivory background and in solid colour, reminiscent of the refinement and texture of couture fabrics. Also perfect for refined pillows.

Silk and cotton shantung lined in fine, super-soft Wish® wool are used for the Venice quilt in jade green and rose gold shades, filled with “Heart of Cashmere”, a warm, airy-light wadding produced using cashmere offcuts, to ensure that none of this prized fibre goes to waste: a precious contribution to a very refined decor item.  Versatile and ideal in the city also the Essential cushions and blankets in wool and cashmere fabric. Extremely soft, they are realized with double bicolour fabrics and crafted by hand.

The sea breeze

Linens are the absolute protagonists of the settings overlooking the sea or the ocean and Provencal gardens. Most are double, in contrasting mélange colours on both sides such as Espero, or with large stripes always in different colours on both sides such as Arles. This is where the textile expertise of Loro Piana Interiors and complex processing techniques come into play, which allow to obtain double fabrics with an impalpable consistency. Perfect for curtains and pillows.

Positive/negative effect for the very light Afriko and Ghibli linens, respectively with geometric and floral patterns to be combined with each other or with the solid coloured linens. Always for curtains.
